Cardiovascular disease (CVD) claims more USA lives each year than cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, accidents, and diabetes combined. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is the most common coronary revascularization procedure for patients following a cardiopulmonary arrest event. Traditional in vivo imaging (x-ray, CT, MRI, intravascular ultrasound, etc.) simply could not assess healing.
Intravascular optical coherence tomography (IVOCT) has a unique ability to provide in-vivo serial imaging of the healing process with near histological resolution. IVOCT is rapidly being adopted in cardiology practice. However, gap exists between the speed of technology development and the skill level of cardiologists. Many cardiologists are not familiar with image interpretation and don’t have enough background/knowledge to use the information in clinical practice. We solve this prob;lem by providing expert-level analysis using Artificial Intelligence software we developed. Dyad Medical’s software solution enables assessments of stent deployment in the cath labs, quality metrics far superior to assessments from angiography. This will help improve cardiologists’ techniques and improve success rates.
